Lizardmen are a folk that live in the caves. They evolved from ancient beasts during the Rising Age. They are known for being mysterious cave dwellers who use magic, though this isn’t always the case: many lizardmen live among gnomes and humans. They gained intelligence during the Obsidian Age when they were granted the opportunity to look into the eye of Fount (see the Myth of the Lizardmen for more information).
Appearance
The average height of a lizardman is similar to a human: about 6 feet tall. They are reptilian, scaly, and often green. They also wear cloths, but it’s not as much of a necessity compared to the other folks.
Behavior
Lizardmen naturally burrow. They live in large caves and caverns that interconnect with each other (see Homes of Pangea for more information). Additionally, they can be hostile towards intruders as they like to live private lives outside of the rest of the world. Ever since they gained intelligence, lizardmen have been digging deeper into the earth to Amir’s brain in search for “ssyskyl“, which is decaying brain goop that supposedly has extreme magical powers. Lizardmen are also creature’s known for their magic. Even though Gnome’s used magic before them, they invented many new abilities and improved old ones (many of the most famous necromancers are lizardmen).
Lifespan and Reproduction
The natural lifespan of a lizardman is around 75 years old, but not many individuals die at that age anymore due to the widespread use of magic in lizardmen society. Lizardmen lay eggs (about 1-4 per litter) which hatch after about two months. Hatchlings look a bit like traditional lizards: small and only able to walk on all fours.

Language
The common tongue of lizardmen is scale-speech. They are also the only people able to speak the language of the gods, which is commonly used among magic wielders. Some other languages they can speak is slither-speech (invented by the snakemen) and gnomish.
Relatives
Lizardmen are related to ancient beasts, Snakemen, Blue Tongued Lizardmen, Dune Lizards, and Dragonmen
