Wood Chips
When Augustus chopped down the Great Pine, wood chips fell into the Void Ocean. The chips mixed with the water and from them sprung Golly, a raven the size of a god.

Golly’s Forest
Golly wanted a place to live, so he went to Augustus.
“Hello big kitty, I am Golly, and I was just born. As you seem to be the only other one here, I must ask you to help me plant a big forest where I can live.”
Augustus agreed, and together they planted the Great Pine’s seeds just outside of Frondurp (in a region now called Midgolly). Quickly, they grew to towering heights, and the forest was named ‘Golly’s Forest‘. Golly then gathered sticks and built a large nest (Golly’s Nest) high up in the canopy to sleep in.

Void Creatures
But soon, Golly became lonely, so he went to Augustus again.
“Hello again, big kitty. Thank you for planting that forest for me, but now I feel quit lonely. If you help me populate my forest, I will help you build your cabin.”
Augustus happily agreed once more. He made it so that whenever Golly spat into the Void Ocean, a creature would be born. Soon, Golly’s Forest was filled with ‘Void Creatures‘, all of whom were descended from Golly. Holding up his end of the bargain, Golly helped construct Auggie’s Cabin.

Archie and the Twigbear
Archie was a child of Golly. He was a red serpent with horns, and he was the most devious creature of the forest. Archie had children of his own, and he ruled over their every move. It was through this that he discovered Frkunlag (the gnomish concept of corrupting power) of which he taught to Kronder (see Creation Myth for more information). Archie’s desire for power grew, but no creature in the forest would ever submit to him. So he started to create a monster. Under the roots of a tree, Archie assembled twigs, pine needles, and rope together into a beast known as the Twigbear. It resembled a bear, but it was made of sticks and held together with rope. Now all he had to do was give it a soul. One night while the deities were drinking in the Voidka Hall, Archie slithered into the Cabin and took a bottle of the Great Pine’s soul along with several chains from the cellar. When he got back, he infused the Twigbear with the soul and unleashed it onto the forest.

Golly and the Twigbear
The Twigbear walked up and down the forest scaring every creature into hiding. It was then that Archie would slither into their hiding spot and chain them up. Golly had seen the Twigbear from his nest, so he flew to Augustus.
“Hello big kitty. There is a big spooky beast terrorizing my woods, and I need your help getting rid of it.”
But this time, Augustus was very busy, so he armed Golly with an axe and suited him up in armor made by Kyle. Golly was then sent into the woods alone where he came face to face with the Twigbear. At first, he felt very nervous, so he stood back and cawed at the beast, but it was unfazed. Then Golly started diving onto the beast’s head, but was once again unfazed. He then started swinging his axe at the beast, but all it did was shave off some of the wood. Feeling defeated, Golly started to back away, but that’s when he noticed a flaw in the Twigbear’s design. Golly clutched his axe in his beak and flew at the beast, cutting the ropes holding it together. The sticks and twigs making up it’s body fell apart onto the floor, killing it instantly.

Freeing the Forest
Golly soon discovered what Archie had done to the creatures of the forest, so he unchained them all, and together they searched for Archie. They were going to confront him, but he had already fled to a new place called Earth. After the forest was safe once more, Golly raised Archie’s kids as his own. However, the children never forgave or forgot about Archie, and they made it their mission to find and kill him once and for all (see the Children of Archie Myth for more information)
