Spirits are personifications of natural places and events. They are considered monsters due to their odd nature. A spirit’s physical form isn’t permanent; instead, they are able to disappear and reappear at will. Because of this, they aren’t able to die in the literal sense: if they “die”, they will most likely reappear again. Additionally, they don’t have souls as their life force comes from the nature around them. Some spirits are seasonal and only exist during a certain time of year. An example of this is scarecrows.
